Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Coordinator - IMC Unit
About The Position
Sentara is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator at Norfolk General Hospitals Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), in Norfolk, Virginia. This is a full-time position for Weekend Nights (Fri/Sat/Sun OR Sat/Sun/Mon). The 7N unit is a 16-bed IMC mixed unit providing highly skilled care to a variety of patients. The role demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. The Unit Coordinator, under the direction of the department manager, leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. The goal is to increase staff satisfaction and promote excellent customer service.
Requirements
- 18 months nursing experience required.
- BSN Degree REQUIRED
- Virginia RN License REQUIRED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.
- Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.
- Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
