About The Position

Provide nursing care to patients/families by utilizing the nursing process via the telephone for all patients. This role involves assessing patients, providing education, documenting in electronic medical records, and maintaining communication with providers and patients.

Requirements

  • RN degree
  • Completion of accredited state RN program
  • Current RN license
  • CPR certification
  • Knowledge of medical field
  • Skill in performing tasks appropriately
  • Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients
  • Ability to project a pleasant and professional image
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and set priorities
  • Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficient and effectively under deadlines
  • Ability to express oneself in a clear, concise and organized manner both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to think through a problem, analyze and break it down into parts to resolve or come up with a logical solution
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, keeping in mind company policies and procedures as guidelines
  • Use hands to finger and handle or feel
  • Use computer keyboard and mouse on a regular basis
  • Able to speak and hear
  • Phone work will be required on a regular basis
  • Close vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Use the computer continuously throughout the work day
  • Must be able to sit for majority of day

Nice To Haves

  • BSN desired
  • 1 year experience in professional nursing desired

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process
  • Informs Triage Manager of case progress and reports any unusual circumstances
  • Assesses patient using exemplary communication skills via the telephone throughout phone interaction
  • Assists providers by obtaining accurate and timely information utilizing nursing knowledge and experience
  • Follows written protocols for deliverance of care
  • Provide patient education
  • Documents in electronic medical records as required
  • Maintains open and positive communication with providers and other health professionals
  • Communicates in a positive manner with patients, families/significant others
  • Exhibits excellent listening skills
  • Maintains professionalism at all times
  • Participates in continuing education programs
  • Participates in risk management and quality assurance activities
  • Adheres to all New York Spine and Wellness Center policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
