About The Position

SENTARA MARTHA JEFFERSON MEDICAL CENTER in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a RN TRAVELER for a 14-week contract, working 36 hours per week on the DAY shift in the IMCU/STEPDOWN unit. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas. This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients. Requirements

  • AT LEAST 2 yrs of RECENT RN bedside experience on an acute care hospital IMCU /STEPDOWN experience
  • EPIC User
  • BLS
  • NIHSS
  • RN License valid to work in the State of NC
  • Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty; BLS and NIHH.

  • RN Diploma, ADN, BSN or MSN
