About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an EXPERIENCED REGISTERED NURSE for a Temporary - 14 WEEKS, Full-time ICU position. The shift is 7 PM - 7 AM and the pay rate is $70/hr. This role requires at least 2 years of recent bedside RN experience in general ICU. If floated to IMCU, the nurse must be able to efficiently and safely handle a patient ratio of 1:4-6. Experience with vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, TNK, strokes, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, sepsis, CRRT, general surgeries, DKA, SI, ETOH, and STEMIs is required. The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards include ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for specific clinical areas. All Direct Care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire. Requirements

  • AT LEAST 2 yrs of RECENT bedside RN experience in general ICU
  • Experience in use of vasopressors (levophed, phenylephrine, vasopressin, dopamine) as well as sedation meds like fentanyl, propofol, and precedex.
  • Experience with Insulin drips
  • Experience with TNK, strokes, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, sepsis, CRRT, general surgeries, DKA, SI , ETOH. and, STEMIs.
  • RN License valid to work in the State of Virginia
  • BLS
