About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Trauma Neuro ICU at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. The position is full-time, involving 3x12-hour night shifts with rotating weekends. The nurse will manage advanced neurological and hemodynamic monitoring systems, act as a critical thinker and first responder in high-acuity situations, collaborate with various surgical and intensivist teams, deliver life-sustaining treatments, and provide family advocacy and education.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
One year of critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage advanced neurological and hemodynamic monitoring systems (e.g., ICP/EVDs).
Act as a critical thinker and first responder in high-acuity, rapidly changing patient situations.
Collaborate with Trauma Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, and Intensivists to execute complex care plans.
Deliver life-sustaining treatments, including mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, and advanced surgical recovery.
Provide empathetic family advocacy and education during critical, life-altering diagnoses.
