About The Position

The Registered Nurse answers calls to collect clinical information relative to a transfer request and facilitates the transfer by matching the patient's clinical need to the facility with service and bed capacity capability. Responsibilities

• Provides status reviews for all patients from any portal of entry (planned or emergent) prior to bed assignment.
• Performs initial review based on the status specified by the physician's order and will follow through with analyzing clinical information and making recommendations regarding appropriateness of care.
• Assures the financial integrity of the organization by decreasing waste by assuring proper admission status is communicated to registration and care managers, that information regarding current admission is adequate to meet screening criteria or to communicate with physician and / or physician advisor when criteria for admission are not met.
• Assesses the patient to ensure the right care is delivered at the right time by identifying delays and removing barriers.
