RN - Registered Nurse -Telemetry Unit - Multiple Shifts
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct nursing care in the Telemetry Unit, a 18-bed unit specializing in the care of patients requiring telemetry monitoring. Nurses on this unit will develop skills to detect medical or cardiovascular issues, communicate with providers, and discover interventions to prevent emergent situations. This role involves implementing and monitoring patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition, coordinating care across disciplines, and assessing discharge planning needs. Advanced technology is utilized to provide the highest level of care.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Assessments, rhythm interpretations, lab value analyses, patient and family education, wound care, IV management, and medication administration and management.
