About The Position

The Telemetry Nurse provides care to patients with critical or life-threatening illness. The Telemetry Nurse monitors and interprets rhythms, monitors patients hemodynamic statuses, administers prescribed cardiac medications and Telemetry approved drips. The Telemetry Nurse is expected to recognize and assist patients in shock or those with other, life threatening, complications. The Telemetry assists with emergency and elective cardio versions as well as the insertion of temporary pacemakers. Interacts with those of a variety of age(s) within any of the following populations: adolescent, adult, and geriatric and with those of adult age on an inter-disciplinary level; must be able to effectively interact appropriate to individual's intellectual level and physical ability.May need to float to other units based on hospital needs. If floated to an area outside skillset, traveler would be helping hands only.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse license
  • Experience in Telemetry nursing
  • Ability to monitor and interpret rhythms
  • Ability to monitor patients' hemodynamic statuses
  • Ability to administer cardiac medications and Telemetry approved drips
  • Ability to recognize and assist patients in shock or with life-threatening complications
  • Ability to assist with cardio versions and pacemaker insertions
  • Ability to interact with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
  • Ability to interact on an inter-disciplinary level
  • Ability to interact appropriately to individual's intellectual level and physical ability

Responsibilities

  • Float to other units based on hospital needs (may be helping hands only if outside skillset).
