About The Position

Our established multi-specialty Ophthalmology group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional pre and post-operative care. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and comfort, utilizing your expertise to monitor and respond to their needs throughout the surgical process. Hourly pay rate: Up to $46 per hour depending on level of experience.

Requirements

4-year degree from an accredited school of nursing.
2 years of RN work experience.
Current RN license in the state of Connecticut.
Understanding of operative procedures and post-operative care

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a surgical center.
Comprehensive knowledge of pre-operative nursing care in an ambulatory surgery setting.

Responsibilities

Admit patients, conduct thorough assessments, and prepare them for surgery.
Receive patients from surgery, evaluate the needs, and provide attentive post-operative care.
Monitor and document patient status, ensuring clear and concise records.
Carry out prescribed treatments and physician orders with precision.
Provide clear post-operative instructions and conduct follow-up phone calls.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date operating room logs.
Monitor the sterile field.
Assist anesthesia, scrub, and medical personnel to ensure smooth operations (cataract, cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastic, retina).
Prepare and check OR equipment, supplies, and medications.
