RN - Registered Nurse - Surgical Services - Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will provide direct nursing care in the Orthosports Same Day/Block Area at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. This role involves implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating care among different disciplines, and managing discharge planning needs. The schedule is 5:30 AM - 3:00 PM, four days a week, with minimal call requirements and no holidays or weekends unless on call. UAB St. Vincent's is a long-standing healthcare provider in Alabama, part of UAB Medicine, known for its compassionate care and commitment to the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
