About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, patient-centered peri-operative care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) for patients across the lifespan. Provides direct and indirect care in Pre-Op and PACU settings.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience or on the job training
Nice To Haves
- Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect peri-operative care in Pre-Op and PACU settings
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and post-anesthesia recovery monitoring
- Monitor airway, hemodynamic status, pain control, and level of consciousness
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Coordinate patient care and direct OR Technicians and support staff
- Ensure safe patient flow across the peri-operative continuum
- Maintain compliance with AORN, Joint Commission, and hospital standards
- Participate in performance improvement, unit meetings, and education
- Serve as a clinical resource to staff and team members
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance
