About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in Surgical Oncology at University Hospital, specializing in pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, and ear/nose/and throat cancers. It is a high functioning, fast-paced surgical and specialized care unit where Clinical Nurses collaborate with peers in team decision-making for recovering post-surgical patients with a cancer diagnosis. The unit, 3South, offers a learning and collaborative environment within a high acuity setting and has been recognized for safety achievements. IU Health emphasizes that every team member is a caregiver, extending care to patients, each other, and the community.

Requirements

  • Associates of Nursing (ASN)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers in team decision-making for recovering post-surgical patients with a cancer diagnosis.
  • Provide care to patients with a cancer diagnosis.
  • Participate in service projects, health initiatives, and wellness education.
