About The Position

Position Highlights: Position: Registered Nurse, Surgical Oncology Location: Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Center for Health, Naperville and Elmhurst, IL Full Time | 40 hours/week Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4pm, no weekends or holidays A Brief Overview: The Staff Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Staff Nurse will collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's in Nursing, required.
  • Licensure: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure, required.
  • Certification: Current CPR Certification issued by American Heart Association, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's in Nursing, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Evaluates patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.
  • Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
  • Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient’s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes.
  • Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs.
  • Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.
  • Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs.
  • Assesses patient’s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly.
  • Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate.
  • Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.
  • Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues.
  • Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education.
  • Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.
  • Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support
  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.
