About The Position

Responsible for providing nursing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other established standards. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care/practice. This role involves the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes, and development of a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team members. The nurse will identify interventions, implement them, evaluate patient progress, and document the process, ensuring sensitivity to age-specific and unique patient/family needs. The position also promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team, collaborates to meet patient/family needs, and delegates tasks as appropriate according to the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice.
  • Collect and analyze assessment data.

  • Identify interventions to attain expected outcomes.
  • Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care.
  • Evaluate the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes.
  • Document the nursing care process.
  • Provide care with sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family.
  • Promote and evaluate the effective functioning of the health care team.
  • Collaborate with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care.
  • Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.
