About The Position

The Surgical-Trauma Intensive Care Unit is a 14-bed unit at Hartford Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center and one of the largest teaching hospitals in New England. The unit provides cutting-edge treatment to patients with conditions including motor vehicle trauma, orthopedic injuries, vascular surgical, abdominal surgical, liver and kidney transplant, and extensive esophagectomy. The Critical Care Registered Nurses (RNs) are highly skilled and trained to provide expertise and compassionate care at the bedside. The unit operates with a team-based mentality, emphasizing collaboration among Physician Assistants, Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, Registered Nurses, and surgical house staff physicians to achieve the best outcomes, guided by Hartford Healthcare's values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity, and Caring.

Requirements

  • Current Connecticut RN License.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
  • Minimum one year Acute Care Registered Nurse experience strongly preferred.
  • In exceptional circumstances, experienced ASN/ADN nurses currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
  • Graduate Nurses are encouraged to apply through the Critical Care Graduate Nurse Program.
