About The Position

Work collaboratively with physicians and other clinic staff to provide professional nursing care to patients. Provide patient and family health education and health assessment.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Current Wisconsin RN License

• Previous clinic, doctor’s office or urgent care experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement nursing plan of care for patients within the scope of license.
• Communicate the plan of care to patients, including test results, scheduling of specialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription drug instructions, and other patient education.
• Document treatment in the medical record appropriately.
• Triage patient concerns via telephone and provide nursing advice using the nursing process.
• Receive phone calls relating to appointments, urgent care, inpatient admissions, prescription refills, and test results in accordance with clinic protocols and coordinate proper disposition of each.
• Obtain, review, verify, and/or complete health care forms related to home health care, referrals, medical equipment, and other patient/physician needs as appropriate.
• Assist with managed care authorization and complete insurance and medical forms for patients or assist patients in completing the forms.
• Help maintain patient flow and workflow.
• Work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patients and clinic.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with clinical trials according to protocol.
• Other duties as assigned.
