About The Position

Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to support our surgical team by preparing patients for surgery and providing attentive post-operative care. This role is vital in ensuring our patients feel safe, supported, and ready at every phase of their surgical experience.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited learning institution
  • Minimum of three years work experience in direct nursing care is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skill and understanding of nurse role in a surgical setting
  • Advanced skill in patient safety in surgery setting; assume role as patient advocate
  • Advanced skill in clinical judgement, observation, knowledge and assessments with the ability to foresee needs that are essential to the success of the operation/surgery
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and respond to opportunities for improvement through continual learning, changes in approach based on situation and professional practice behavior
  • Ability to operate general office equipment including computer software applications (e-mail, scheduling software, electronic health records, etc.)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration
  • Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations
  • Required to complete Tuberculosis testing/screening
  • Valid state license as an RN
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support/PALS certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support/ACLS certification (may be obtained at facility)
