About The Position
Spanish Peaks Regional Health Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to support our surgical team by preparing patients for surgery and providing attentive post-operative care. This role is vital in ensuring our patients feel safe, supported, and ready at every phase of their surgical experience.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited learning institution
- Minimum of three years work experience in direct nursing care is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge, skill and understanding of nurse role in a surgical setting
- Advanced skill in patient safety in surgery setting; assume role as patient advocate
- Advanced skill in clinical judgement, observation, knowledge and assessments with the ability to foresee needs that are essential to the success of the operation/surgery
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and respond to opportunities for improvement through continual learning, changes in approach based on situation and professional practice behavior
- Ability to operate general office equipment including computer software applications (e-mail, scheduling software, electronic health records, etc.)
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the public, other agencies, employees and administration
- Must obtain annual flu vaccination and any job-specific immunizations
- Required to complete Tuberculosis testing/screening
- Valid state license as an RN
- Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support/PALS certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support/ACLS certification (may be obtained at facility)
