About The Position
This role focuses on pre-operative risk mitigation by conducting patient interviews and chart reviews to identify potential impacts on surgical outcomes. The nurse will also drive patient preparation by initiating consultations and ordering diagnostics for clinical clearance. Additionally, the nurse will provide comprehensive patient education regarding the surgical procedure, preparatory steps, post-operative logistics, and inpatient recovery planning.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Nice To Haves
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Responsibilities
- Conduct meticulous, in-depth patient interviews and comprehensive chart reviews to identify and mitigate medical anomalies or risk factors impacting surgical outcomes.
- Initiate necessary physician consultations and order essential pre-operative diagnostics to ensure timely clinical clearance for scheduled procedures.
- Educate patients thoroughly on the surgical procedure, required preparatory steps, post-operative logistics (timing, transportation), and planning for inpatient stay or recovery.
