About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgery CVOR department at Texas Health Plano is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves responding to patients' basic human needs, showing human respect, engaging family/caregivers, understanding patients' frame of reference, and engaging in mutual problem-solving. The nurse will also practice attentive reassurance, maintain an encouraging manner, and create a healing environment that ensures privacy, safety, confidentiality, and tranquility. The unit has a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma in Nursing or Associate’s degree in nursing or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of CVOR surgery experience highly preferred
