The RN Supervisor Clinical Trauma Registry oversees the daily operations of the Trauma Registry at Boston Medical Center, ensuring high quality, timely, and accurate trauma data for New England’s busiest Level I Adult Trauma Center. This role supervises five trauma registrars, prioritizes daily workflow, and ensures full compliance with all state and national reporting requirements, including submissions to NTDB/TQIP and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Trauma Registry. Key responsibilities include maintaining data integrity through concurrent abstraction, validation, and audit readiness; managing the trauma registry software in partnership with the vendor and BMC ITS; and implementing required updates from ACS, TQIP, NTDB, and MA DPH. The Supervisor provides clinical expertise and training in AIS and ICD 10 CM coding, supports staff development, and ensures adherence to ACS COT and state data standards. The role processes and delegates trauma related performance improvement, quality review, and research data requests, supporting the Trauma Program’s clinical, operational, and strategic needs. The Supervisor collaborates closely with Trauma Program leadership and represents the program through professional networking and education to maintain current registry best practices.
