About The Position

Central Louisiana State Hospital located in Pineville, Louisiana is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our Nursing Department as a Registered Nurse Supervisor A who provides first line supervision of nursing services in our patient Clinic. Registered Nurse Supervisor A plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH’s values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients. Requirements

  • Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse
  • Three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse
  • A bachelor's degree in nursing plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse
  • A master's degree in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse
  • A doctorate in nursing or public health plus one year of experience as a licensed registered nurse

Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision and direction to assigned subordinates.
  • Plans and directs nursing services for the Medical Clinic and coordinates activities with other departments.
  • Assists physicians with routine physical examinations of all newly admitted patients and annual physical examinations on inpatients.
  • Develops and interprets to other professional and nonprofessional staff area operation policies, procedures and standards of care in accordance with overall hospital and accreditation committee policies.
  • When necessary, acts as liaison with families, other facilities, law enforcement agencies concerning patient's admission, discharge, transfer, etc.
  • Serves on Nursing Policy and Procedure Committee and assists in annual review and revision of same.
  • Serves on assigned committees: HIMS, Utilization Review, Infection Control, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Nursing Executive, QI, Hospital Leadership, etc.
  • Establishes and maintains a communication system with other departments and outside agencies for use as a resource for patient care needs.

Benefits

  • Premium Pay of $10.00/hour worked
  • Longevity Pay starting at an additional $2.00/hour worked, up to $5.00/hour worked
  • Shift Differential is also earned, depending upon time of shift worked
