About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our nursing team in a step-down unit. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to patients transitioning from intensive care to a less intensive treatment environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a step-down or progressive care unit.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patient care for a diverse range of conditions, including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician's orders.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient progress and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Possibly float to other Intermediate Care Units (ICU), primarily 5J and 12A, as needed.
