About The Position
We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for our Step Down unit, specializing in progressive care. This position involves providing comprehensive care for patients with various conditions, including but not limited to: Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Substance Abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy. The Step Down unit consists of 6-20 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. There may be opportunities to float to other Intermediate Care Units (IMCU), with units 5J and 12A being the most common.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive care for patients with various conditions on the Step Down unit.
- Caring for patients with conditions such as Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Substance Abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy.
- Maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
- Potentially floating to other Intermediate Care Units (IMCU), specifically units 5J and 12A.
