About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our progressive care unit. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a medical step-down unit with a patient capacity of 16-20 beds.

Requirements

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a progressive care or step-down unit.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and aftercare.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting care provided and patient responses.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery and patient outcomes.
