About The Position

Branson Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit offers an exciting opportunity to care for a diverse population of higher-acuity patients in a collaborative, team-focused environment. Similar to a cardiac/neuro telemetry unit, our nurses provide specialized care while maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5, allowing for meaningful patient interactions and exceptional care. Our tiered acuity model gives nurses the opportunity to build advanced clinical skills by caring for patients requiring therapies such as BiPAP, Optiflow, cardiac infusions, and insulin drips. We are proud of our close-knit, family-oriented culture where teamwork, respect, and compassion are the foundation of everything we do. Following CoxHealth's mission, vision, values, and commitment to evidence-based practice, we are dedicated to delivering outstanding patient outcomes while fostering professional growth, lifelong learning, and career advancement for every member of our team. The critical care nurse provides direct and individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients, in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. They assess the patient’s condition, perform diagnostic tests, begin treatments and assist doctors with any required medical procedures. The critical care nurse monitors and adjusts specialized equipment, interprets and records electronic displays; i.e. intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, ventilator settings, etc.
