Registered Nurse, Step Down - Intermediate Care Unit
About The Position
Sentara CarePlex Hospital is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse for the Step Down Unit/Intermediate Care Unit. This is a full-time position (36-hours per week) on the Day Shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with rotating weekends. The unit is a 24-bed facility that cares for patients with a variety of healthcare needs, including being the designated Stroke Unit. They provide care for respiratory compromised patients on Bipap, high-flo and/or chronic long term vents, manipulate and titrate vasoactive infusions, and have bedside monitors. Patients with DKA, CHF, Pneumonia, and other conditions are also cared for on this unit. The role involves assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overall patient care responsibility. Teamwork is emphasized, with colleagues working together to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
- RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
