About The Position

This role focuses on integrating healthcare for patients experiencing heart attacks, collaborating with Emergency Medical Systems, regional medical centers, and emergency departments. The nurse will review quality data, manage the chest pain accreditation award, and provide education on standards of care for heart disease management and treatment. The position requires an experienced, self-motivated, and organized RN capable of working both independently and collaboratively. The schedule involves day hours with some flexibility.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, those accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
  • Currently holds an unencunbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred in Bemidji and Rapid City.
  • Minimum of two years’ clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with healthcare team and other professionals to coordinate and ensure timely sequencing of care.
  • Enhances patient flow and interdisciplinary communication to promote early intervention.
  • Supports patients/clients and other family members by removing barriers of care.
  • Seeks to evaluate outcomes based on integration among established clinical, financial, and utilization data.
  • Functions in structured and unstructured healthcare settings, potentially in environments without established policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes independent nursing judgment when integrating healthcare.
  • Applies appropriate age-related patient care protocols for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • May serve as a key link between providers, clinics, insurance concerns, communication, inpatient floors, and outside facilities.
  • Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships.
  • Works with growth and development needs of client populations.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, and negotiates with others.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and trends patient responses utilizing structured care methodologies.
  • Works closely with ancillary and support services.
  • Solves problems, identifies, and implements process improvements.
  • Facilitates groups and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Implements best practices when necessary.
  • Functions within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure.
  • Integrates health care for patients/clients across the continuum of care.
