About The Position

This role involves assisting healthcare providers in a pain clinic setting, focusing on patient care, medication management, and adherence to regulatory guidelines. The Registered Nurse will perform patient assessments, administer medications, assist with procedures, and manage clinic operations to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted Arkansas RN license required.
  • CPR/BLS current.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of clinical risk.
  • Demonstrate consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient office visits, including rooming patients, interviewing them, recording vital signs, and entering information into the electronic medical record.
  • Perform select clinical tests as ordered by the provider.
  • Manage, monitor, and operate equipment safely and correctly.
  • Administer and document medication under provider's order, adhering to medication rights and reducing the potential for medical error within the scope of the nurse's license.
  • Assist providers with office-based procedures.
  • Organize exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep, and restocking of supplies.
  • Complete medication prior authorizations.
  • Monitor ARPMP per protocol.
  • Assist in Quality Measures by collecting, screening, and monitoring workflow under the direction of the provider.
  • Supervise LPN and assist in clinical task/management as needed.
  • Demonstrate initiative and make good decisions in situations not covered by policies.
  • Accept and deliver constructive criticism in a positive manner.
  • Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Perform a structured risk assessment for each patient based on patient history and other information gathered during the patient interview.
  • Understand and follow regulatory guidelines for patients receiving long-term opiate therapy, including random and periodic pill counts and urine drug testing.
  • Assess the patient, including non-verbal cues, to determine the cause and severity of their pain.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or Director associated with clinic specialty.
