About The Position

The Registered Nurse (Special Care Nursery) is a vital member of the Patient Care Services team, providing specialized nursing care to infants from newborn through six months of age who require advanced clinical support beyond routine newborn care. Patients may present with a wide range of conditions requiring interventions such as CPAP and mechanical ventilation. This role follows a competency-based orientation program to ensure proficiency in caring for the Special Care Nursery population while delivering high-quality, patient-centered, evidence-based care.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse license required
  • Basic Life Support (within 30 days of hire)
  • IV Therapy and Neonatal Resuscitation (within 90 days)
  • Advanced neonatal skills including CPAP, mechanical ventilation, and central line management (within 180 days)
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based care model
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, safety, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (required within 10 years of hire for RNs after 2019)
  • Specialty certification preferred
  • Relevant or recent nursing experience preferred
