About The Position

The Children’s Home of Reading is seeking an experienced RN to provide nursing care to our patients with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude to foster a supportive and therapeutic environment. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing and licensed to practice nursing in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Clinical experience working with emotionally challenged children/adolescents preferred.
  • At least three (3) written references that demonstrate past educational and/or employment experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Successful completion of core development orientation program.
  • PA Act 33/34/73 clearances and Proof of Exclusions
  • Pre-employment physical from a licensed physician (after conditional job offer) verifying person has no communicable diseases or physical conditions that might endanger the health and safety of children or prevent the person from performing essential job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and uses properly the channels of organization in The Children's Home of Reading: intradepartmental and interdepartmental.
  • Clinical leadership skills and ability to relate well with professionals across all disciplines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good use of clinical interventions with clients across diverse cultures/backgrounds.
  • Ability to assess, interpret and effectively document data specifically related to the care of children/adolescents.
  • Ability to discern underlying dynamics and issues beyond dysfunctional behaviors.
  • Ability to evaluate strengths as well as illnesses in the diagnostic process.
  • Ability to administer leadership with nursing and program staff and productively evaluate the mentoring effects.
  • Responsible for medication administration, including the documentation in medical administration record and reporting of medication errors.
  • Ensure notifications are made to internal team members regarding client's medication and dosage changes.
  • Updates, organizes and maintains client files.
