About The Position

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Surgical Services Unit! The selected applicant will assess, plan, implement, and document professional nursing care to the post anesthetic patient. They will perform pre-post procedural assessments with instructions for ambulatory surgical, Lithotripsy, and cardiac catheterization patients. The role involves evaluating and revising the plan of care specific to the age of the patient being administered by the nurse and other health care team members. The nurse will continuously observe and assess the patient for untoward effects, communicating with the physician and taking appropriate measures to maintain and/or stabilize patient status. The position also assumes responsibility for the supervision, management, and activities of the unit in the absence of the nurse manager. Cross-training to all areas of surgical services, including the operating room, is expected.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• BLS required.
• Must be dependable, flexible, and committed to providing outstanding patient care.

Nice To Haves

• Two (2) years of perioperative experience preferred.
