About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Village Caregiving - Iowa City, IA. While our branch office is located in Iowa City, this role primarily serves clients throughout the Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas. The position offers highly flexible PRN hours with competitive compensation of $60 per hour (for up to 2 hours per in-home assessment).
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Previous nursing experience in the home care setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Visit clients and Veterans in their homes for meaningful, one-on-one visits.
- Complete initial admissions, 90-day reassessments, and ongoing evaluations to identify physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
- Perform in-home safety evaluations and observe the home environment.
- Develop individualized care plans that provide caregivers a clear blueprint for safe, relationship-centered care.
- Educate patients and families on home health strategies and recommend helpful medical devices or tools.
- Communicate proactively with clients, families, team members, and the Executive Director.
- Complete VA Nurse Assessment documentation on a supplied tablet the same day as the visit.
- Track and report completed assessments to the Executive Director at the end of each pay period.
