About The Position
Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 26 beds. The unit cares for premature infants, patients with sepsis, surgical cases such as gastroschisis and esophageal atresia, and ventilated patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:2 or 1:1. The position works 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. The nurse is first to float to the nursery and pediatrics. Orientation includes three shifts on the unit with a preceptor, plus six hours in the nursery and pediatrics. Navy scrubs are required.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of NICU experience.
- BLS certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- PALS certification.
- Experience titrating dopamine, dobutamine, Versed, and fentanyl.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill or premature infants in the NICU.
- Monitor patients using available telemetry.
- Float first to the nursery and pediatrics when required.
- Work every other weekend and one major and one minor holiday per year.
