About The Position

This role requires a knowledgeable and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide essential nursing care within a long-term care facility. The RN will be responsible for assessing resident needs, developing and implementing care plans, and supervising nursing staff. The position demands strong leadership, decision-making abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within a healthcare team. Adherence to company policies and regulations is crucial, as is the ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.

Requirements

Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures.
Knowledgeable of the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the long-term care facility.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Nursing department.
Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and complaint procedures.
Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Able to knowledgeably and competently deliver basic nursing care to residents.
Able to practice dependable, regular attendance.
Able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
Able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Provide basic nursing care to residents.
Evaluate resident needs through ongoing assessment and revise care plans based on changes in resident condition.
Provide clinical supervision to LPNs and CNAs.
Chart appropriately and timely.
Monitor, record, and report symptoms and changes in residents’ conditions.
Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
Interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess resident’s condition.
Modify resident treatment plans as indicated by residents’ responses and conditions.
Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident care plans.
Monitor all aspects of resident care, including diet and physical activity.
Instruct individuals and families on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and develop health improvement programs.
Prepare residents for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
Assist in the evacuation of residents.
