About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Men’s Residence program. The RN plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals in recovery while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This is a 13-week assignment with a schedule consisting of rotating shifts (days, nights, and weekends), 5 days per week, totaling 40 hours . Responsibilities include: Maintain 24-hour accountability for the quality and continuity of client care Conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments, including vital signs, risk assessments, and withdrawal assessments (COWS) per Part 820 regulations Administer and evaluate treatment regimens and prescribed medications Monitor patient progress and report significant behavioral or medical changes Maintain proper control, storage, and documentation of medications Triage emergent medical situations and coordinate care with internal and external healthcare providers Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all patient care Ensure compliance with OASAS and Medicaid regulations Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing leadership, counselors, and clinical staff Participate in Quality Assessment, Assurance, and Performance Improvement initiatives Provide direct patient care and clinical oversight as needed Respect and support patients’ cultural and religious practices Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
  • Experience in: Med-Surg (required), Psychiatry (required), Rehabilitation (preferred)
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) – required CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – required within 3 months of hire
  • Successful completion of medication competency exam
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Team-oriented with a patient-centered approach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings preferred
