Registered Nurse RN needed for Residence for Men

About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Men’s Residence program. The RN plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals in recovery while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This is a 13-week assignment with a schedule consisting of rotating shifts (days, nights, and weekends), 5 days per week, totaling 40 hours.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
  • Experience in: Med-Surg (required)
  • Experience in: Psychiatry (required)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – required within 3 months of hire
  • Successful completion of medication competency exam
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Team-oriented with a patient-centered approach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in: Rehabilitation (preferred)
  • Experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain 24-hour accountability for the quality and continuity of client care
  • Conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments, including vital signs, risk assessments, and withdrawal assessments (COWS) per Part 820 regulations
  • Administer and evaluate treatment regimens and prescribed medications
  • Monitor patient progress and report significant behavioral or medical changes
  • Maintain proper control, storage, and documentation of medications
  • Triage emergent medical situations and coordinate care with internal and external healthcare providers
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all patient care
  • Ensure compliance with OASAS and Medicaid regulations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing leadership, counselors, and clinical staff
  • Participate in Quality Assessment, Assurance, and Performance Improvement initiatives
  • Provide direct patient care and clinical oversight as needed
  • Respect and support patients’ cultural and religious practices
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
