Registered Nurse RN needed for Residence for Men

About The Position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Men’s Residence program. The RN plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals in recovery while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This is a 13-week assignment with a schedule consisting of rotating shifts (days, nights, and weekends), 5 days per week, totaling 40 hours.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience in: Med-Surg (required)
- Experience in: Psychiatry (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – required within 3 months of hire
- Successful completion of medication competency exam
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Team-oriented with a patient-centered approach
Nice To Haves
- Experience in: Rehabilitation (preferred)
- Experience in addiction treatment or behavioral health settings preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain 24-hour accountability for the quality and continuity of client care
- Conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments, including vital signs, risk assessments, and withdrawal assessments (COWS) per Part 820 regulations
- Administer and evaluate treatment regimens and prescribed medications
- Monitor patient progress and report significant behavioral or medical changes
- Maintain proper control, storage, and documentation of medications
- Triage emergent medical situations and coordinate care with internal and external healthcare providers
- Ensure accurate, timely, and complete documentation of all patient care
- Ensure compliance with OASAS and Medicaid regulations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing leadership, counselors, and clinical staff
- Participate in Quality Assessment, Assurance, and Performance Improvement initiatives
- Provide direct patient care and clinical oversight as needed
- Respect and support patients’ cultural and religious practices
- Perform additional duties as assigned
