Registered Nurse/RN For Med/Surg
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse with a strong background in Coronary Care for a 13-week night shift assignment. The RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. Candidates must be comfortable floating to Med/Surg and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as needed. This role requires a nurse who can effectively assess patient needs across clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual dimensions while maintaining patient safety at all times. The RN must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in high-stress situations, apply critical thinking skills, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. The position may require assuming charge nurse responsibilities, including delegation, prioritization of care, and leadership of unit activities.
Requirements
- Active and current New York RN license required
- Minimum of one successfully completed travel assignment (first-time travelers will not be considered)
- Coronary Care experience required
- Must be comfortable floating to Med/Surg and PCU
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- BLS certification required (or must be obtained within 3 months of hire)
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles and clinical practices
- Ability to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Skilled in patient assessment and care planning
- Awareness of safety protocols, including proper patient handling and lift usage
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including prioritization and delegation
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal)
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital RN experience preferred
