About The Position

Peachford, the leading and largest free-standing psychiatric hospital in Georgia, is seeking Registered Nurses with experience or an interest in Mental Health Nursing to join their mission. Peachford has been a leader in behavioral health and addictive disease treatment since 1973, treating nearly 10,000 children, adults, and seniors annually in its 246-bed hospital. The hospital is located on a 38-acre wooded campus in the Dunwoody neighborhood of North Atlanta and employs over 500 people. Several staff nurse positions are open in the Crisis Stabilization Units on various shifts, offering an ICU pay differential and other incentives for working with a high-acuity population. Charge Nurse roles are also available.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • State of Georgia or eCompact MultiState Nursing License

Nice To Haves

  • One year of nursing experience
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Skills in case management.
  • Skills in time management.
  • Knowledge of acute psychological disorders, and advanced principals of abnormal psychology.
  • Familiarity with follow-up resource services available to patients.
  • Skills in maintaining information as highly confidential.
  • Ability to treat all age populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through the organization’s cross-training and orientation program.
  • Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.
  • Experience or an interest in Mental Health Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services in the Child and Adolescent Program - Next Time and in the Adult Services Program.
  • Provide compassionate care.
  • Work in Crisis Stabilization Units.
  • Potentially serve in Charge Nurse roles.
  • Interact with individuals of all cognitive levels and various histories of trauma.
  • Consult with patients and advocate for their care.
  • Maintain healthy boundaries.
  • Verbally de-escalate agitated patients.
  • Support teamwork.
  • Follow rules and policies.
  • Keep patients safe.
