Registered Nurse (RN) - Comprehensive Liver Care Unit ICU - Rotating
About The Position
Join the VCU Health team as they prepare to launch a brand new Comprehensive Liver Care Unit - ICU in April 2025. The unit will be a 15-bed ICU specializing in Liver Transplant and Transplant Hepatology populations with critical care needs, offering 1:1 and 1:2 nurse to patient ratios. The unit will have round-the-clock in-person provider coverage. VCU Health's Liver Transplant program is growing, having completed 205 liver transplants in 2023. VCU Health is an Academic Teaching Facility, a Magnet Organization, and uses Epic for its EHR system, providing a dynamic environment for learning and professional growth, committed to nursing excellence and patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
- AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent (for continued employment)
- For Clin II: 12 to 24 months RN experience
- For Clin III: 3 years of clinical experience
- Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the corresponding state’s Board of Nursing
- All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date unless grandfathered under previous requirements
Nice To Haves
- For Clin I: Experience as an LPN, nursing assistant or care partner in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
- For Clin II, Clin III: Academic Health Care Experience
- For Clin II, Clin III: Experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
- Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program
- For Clin III: Certification in specialty area
