About The Position

We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Catalpa Health team. As an RN with Catalpa Health, you will be an integral team member who helps us to deliver outstanding care for outpatient, pediatric psychiatry patients. Catalpa Health is a pediatric mental health non-profit organization serving over 7,800 children in the Fox Valley annually. Requirements

  • Current license as an RN in the state of WI
  • Must have and maintain CPR and AED certification
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills so as to maintain strong, positive relationship with clients and team members.
  • Ability to remain calm and reassuring in tense situations and to de-escalate crisis/urgent situations.
  • Self-starter with strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability and dedication to working as team.
  • Willing to provide support to fellow team members when needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute tasks in EPIC and related software.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable ethical codes and standards.
  • Thorough understanding of compliance measures related to HIPAA and patient health information.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments or interpret clinical data such as lab results or other diagnostic results prior to provider review
  • Triage, monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate
  • Note and carry out provider orders
  • Record care information concisely, accurately and completely in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on appropriate forms
  • Collaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment as directed by providers
  • Educate patients and their support systems about medication purposes, side effects, and usage
  • Monitors clients under psychiatrists’ care including symptom assessment, response to medication, side or adverse effects, and documenting observations
  • Coordinates with pharmacists, onsite and externally, to provide refills, current prescriptions and medication prior authorizations
  • Provide direction, monitor the LPN's activities and serve as a readily available resource for clinical questions or sudden changes in a patient's condition
