About The Position

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Adult Inpatient Mental Health Department at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The unit cares for adults with a range of mental health needs, including anxiety or depression with risk of self-harm or suicide, and thought disorders that affect their ability to manage in the community. The team works together to provide a safe environment that supports therapeutic improvement in managing mental illness. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care in accordance with the missions and philosophy of Fairview Behavioral Services. This position is 0.7 FTE (56 hours every two weeks), with 8-hour day/evening shifts scheduled from 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. The role includes an every-other-weekend rotation.

Requirements

Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
One year of experience.

Responsibilities

Assess patient needs and identify expected nursing outcomes.
Collaborate with patients, families, and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care.
Develop individualized plans based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition, and other relevant needs.
Evaluate care and patient responses to interventions and expected outcomes.
Communicate and collaborate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and health care team members within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care.
Advance care by using standards, guidelines, care pathways, and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
Promote a culture of evidence-based practice.
