About The Position

Saint Mary’s Hospital's Labor & Delivery unit is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care to pregnant, laboring, or postpartum patients. This role involves offering hands-on and emotional support to patients, assisting mothers with childbirth, aiding in recovery from vaginal and cesarean deliveries, caring for newborns, and ensuring safe discharge for both mother and baby. The licensed Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides professional nursing services and standards of practice in accordance with their level of experience and education, state board of nursing, and established policies and procedures. The RN integrates the art, science, leadership, and knowledge of nursing clinical practice through relationship-centered, compassionate, ethical, and respectful direct/indirect healthcare services.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited college or university affiliated nursing program
Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse RN in Connecticut
BLS required
Labor & Delivery Experience

Nice To Haves

BSN graduates preferred

Responsibilities

Assist mothers with giving birth
Help mothers recover from both vaginal and cesarean deliveries
Provide care for the newborns
Safely discharge mom and baby home safely
Provide care to pregnant, laboring or postpartum patients
Provide hands on and emotional support to our patients
Plan & provide professional nursing services & standards of practice in accordance with level of experience & education, state board of nursing & established policies & procedures
Integrate the art, science, leadership & knowledge of the nursing clinical practice through relationship-centered, compassionate, ethical & respectful direct / indirect healthcare services
Demonstrate the ability to consistently provide safe, patient-centered care
Handle/support various organizational responsibilities
