The unit uses telemetry monitoring for up to 23 patients. Patients are described as hemodynamically stable, with injuries that may result from gunshot wounds or other penetrating injuries, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls. The standard nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, flexing to 1:5 as needed. The acute inpatient setting may require weekend, holiday, and on-call work. This is a non-management position.
