Registered Nurse (RN)
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) will work Full-Time on the Third Shift at the BHCOR-Cor Adolescent Psych Cd Unit I in Corbin, KY. This 14-bed acute stabilization unit serves adolescent patients aged 12-17 with primary psychiatric/chemical dependency diagnoses. The role requires substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills based on psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences. The RN will utilize high-level assessment skills to design and ensure multidisciplinary patient care to meet holistic needs, incorporating established practice guidelines and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current RN license in the state of Kentucky or Kentucky work permit required.
- Associate degree in Nursing required.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required within 30 days of hire.
- Additional required training includes Glucometer, Aegis, RN Patient Deterioration, Life-Threatening Arrhythmia, and Nurse Wound Care training within established timeframes.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Patient care experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides safe, high-quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
- Monitors patient conditions, administers treatments and physician orders, and documents patient care accurately.
- Educates patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and discharge needs.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes and continuity of care.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, clinical judgment, leadership, and teamwork in daily nursing practice.
- Maintains compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, licensure, and continuing education standards.
