Identifies patient, unit, and organizational priorities and follows organizational policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. The role is on a 32-bed inpatient Neuroscience Intermediate Medical Surgical Telemetry unit. Intermediate neurology patients may include those recovering from TNK or thrombectomy, patients receiving blood pressure or heart rate drips, and patients with cerebrospinal fluid drains. The acute inpatient setting may require weekend, holiday, and on-call work. The nurse assesses patients, develops and updates individualized plans of care with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary team, provides and coordinates direct care, delegates appropriate tasks, and evaluates patient responses and outcomes. The nurse supports patient and family education, discharge planning, safe and effective care, quality improvement, and continuity of care. This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
