About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery at Texas Health Frisco will bring their passion to a team focused on the experience of all who enter the hospital. This role promotes family-centered care and supports the patient's vision of the Labor & Delivery process, averaging 120 deliveries per month. Texas Health Frisco is a 93-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital and medical office community offering primary care and multispecialty medicine, specializing in women's services, outpatient surgery, NICU, and emergency medicine. The facility has earned Magnet® status, Joint Commission certifications, and is a Baby Friendly designated facility.

Requirements

  • Associate degree Nursing required or Nursing Diploma
  • 1 Year Experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (Required upon hire)
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (Required)
  • IFM - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring 6 Months (Required upon hire)

Nice To Haves

  • BSN (Preferred)
  • 2 years of labor and delivery experience as a registered nurse (Preferred)
  • NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required)
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days (Required)
  • NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days (Required)
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Req

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
