United Health Services (UHS) is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Ambulatory Surgery Department at Binghamton General Hospital. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care while supporting safe, efficient clinical operations in a fast-paced surgical environment. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Ambulatory Surgery, UHS Binghamton General Hospital Work Shift and Schedule: This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager. Compensation Range: $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience This position is not eligible for benefits. -----

Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Current NYS RN License

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
  • Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.
  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
  • Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
  • Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to United Health Services policy.
  • Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
  • Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and United Health Services policies.
  • Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
  • Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.
  • Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
  • Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
  • Will follow all United Health Services Values.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.
