About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in a collaborative environment with a strong interdisciplinary team and a patient-centered care model. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the RN uses evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures, and direction from the medical staff. The nurse applies knowledge and ability in the nursing process to develop a plan of care that addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family. The position is with the OR General Surgery team at Windham Community Memorial. On-call work is required, and the nurse must be able to respond to the facility within 30 minutes. A sign-on bonus is offered, subject to restrictions.

Requirements

Current Connecticut RN licensure.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Working knowledge of the nursing process and customer service principles.
Current BLS certification or completion within the first three months of employment.
Must be on call and able to respond to the facility within 30 minutes.

Nice To Haves

National certification in the specialty.
Acute care hospital experience.
IV skills.
Secondary language skills.
ACLS is strongly recommended for staff cross-trained to designated areas.
