About The Position

This is a PRN opportunity for an experienced nurse interested in Skilled Nursing/Rehab Services at MUSC Mullins Nursing Center. The RN Unit Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care to patients through interpersonal contact and provides care and services to assure patient safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and MUSC Health standards.

Requirements

Must possess a nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing).
Must be currently licensed/registered in applicable State. Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment.
Must have CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
Must have expert knowledge in field of practice.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must be knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facility.
Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department.
Must perform proficiently in all applicable competency areas.
Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Associate's Degree required.
A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required.
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Delivers quality nursing care to patients through interpersonal contact.
Provides care and services to assure patient safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient.
Attends and participates in continuing education programs.
Evaluates patient needs through ongoing assessment and revises care plans based on changes in patient's condition.
Provides clinical supervision to CNAs and LPNs.
Charts appropriately and timely.
Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
Assists in the evacuation of patients.
Maintains professional working relationships with all care team members, vendors, etc.
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
Understands and follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to MUSC Health’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
