This position provides clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an acute inpatient setting, focusing on patient/family centered care. The role requires demonstrating clinical competency using evidence-based practices in all areas of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes. The Registered Nurse will adhere to all organizational compliance and policy/procedures, including licensure renewal, assigned training, employee health screenings, time and attendance, dress code, patient confidentiality, infection control, and medication administration. Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (JCAHO, DHEC, CMS) and providing care within the scope of the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act are essential. The acute inpatient setting typically involves significant shift, weekend, holiday, and on-call work. This position is eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates. The role is based at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, a regional academic medical center and Magnet-designated hospital with over 125 years of service. The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is an 18-bed, recently renovated unit caring for acutely ill adult/geriatric patients with various medical illnesses, including septic shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, CVA, post-cardiac arrest, GI bleeding, and overdoses.
